Life Group Leadership

“Go and make disciples” is Jesus’ command to all of us. We believe this is the primary task of any life group leader. We believe the task of leading life groups in our community is an exciting and rewarding experience. We would love to help and equip you to serve in this important role!

Step 1: Review the role of a life group and their leader

Growth: Life Groups are open to new members joining their group and continually looking for new ways to invite and include new people for the sake of the kingdom! Therefore, Life Groups will be listed in church publications.

Apprenticing: Life Group leaders are strongly encouraged to always have an “apprentice” or co-leader they are intentionally providing an opportunity for to grow in the group in order to at some point lead a new group.

Support: A life group coach will connect with you by phone or in person on a regular basis to pray for you, support you, and answer any questions you may have. They are simply there to encourage you, not teach you or enforce rules.

Resources: Hope will provide life groups with ongoing discussion guides for sermons a list of recommended resources, as well as online access to life group tools and helps for leading.

Relationships with other leaders through attending two celebration events throughout the year.

Accountability: All Life Group leaders are asked to sign a basic covenant, which is simply our way of going on mission together as leaders in the church. A sample covenant is included here.

Step 2: Contact a Life Group Coach

Contact a small group leader coach to express your interest. They will set up a time to connect with you for a short training/coaching session.
