Originally from Story City, IA, Jon graduated from Waldorf College in Forest City with a degree in Electronic Communications. Over the past several years, Jon has been active in youth, college, young-adult, worship, church planting, and camping ministries throughout Iowa and Colorado. He has spent seven summers and two full years on the program team at Riverside Lutheran Bible Camp in Story City, eventually starting a young-adult/drama ministry called AWAKEN that he continues to oversee leading the board of directors. Jon’s seminary education began at Fuller Theological Seminary, and he will finish his Master of Divinity degree while serving as Director of Hope Des Moines. Jon is married to his wife Tiffany who serves on the Hope Des Moines staff and they love sharing ministry together!

Jon is passionate about Jesus, building relationships, organic/entrepreneurial ministry, and new ways of being the church. Leading Hope Des Moines is a daily adventure of discovering what God is doing in the city, and leading others to follow God’s heart. An avid sports fan, Jon loves a great round of golf, basketball game, or outdoor adventure!
