Benevolence Ministry

Benevolence_MinistryThe mission of Lutheran Church of Hope is to Reach out to the world around us and share the everlasting love of Jesus Christ! CityBranch embodies this mission in a specific way by building bridges to the city to those who need special assistance.

Our main goal as a church is to provide a welcoming, safe, Christ-centered community where everyone can experience the love of God and our church family. Thus, our current ministry efforts are focused on worship, small groups, and missions events in the city. However, in the interest of serving others, we are able to help with various other services from time to time.

Requests for financial, food, or other non-monetary donations are handled on a case by case basis. Because CityBranch is first and foremost called to be a worshipping community, we will more often than not refer our guests with other needs to local organizations/services which best fit their situation. However, we are able to offer some assistance on a case by case basis.

In the interest of assuring that everyone at CityBranch feels safe we are practicing good stewardship, we ask that everyone follow these guidelines:

-For those requesting rides: If you are approached by someone needing an individual ride that you have not previously met, we ask that you refrain from offering rides at this time. Please refer those needing assistance to their case worker at the shelter or public transportation.

-For those requesting financial assistance: Lutheran Church of Hope asks that anyone requesting financial assistance in any way respect the process set in place by the church to meet your needs. At this time, no cash will be given out on the spot at weekend worship. If you are asked to provide help, please refer that individual to Missions team leader Mike Wieskamp, Breakfast Club Coordinator Tracy Robson, or Director Jon Anenson. You may also e-mail info@hopecitybranch.org. Those seeking assistance will be asked to fill out a few simple forms which allow us to be the best stewards of God’s resources as possible. Please allow a minimum of 72 hrs. for a response.

Thank you for reading and for being a servant-hearted church!

If you have any questions about these procedures, please contact info@hopecitybranch.org or call 222-1520 ext. 170.
